Abby is a multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on ceramics and floral design. She draws inspiration from the flora, construction debris and industrial sheen that coats the urban landscape. The amalgamation of these elements spawn soft ceramic and wearable forms that are intricate, yet remind us of the raw materials that comprise our cityscape.
Abby’s creative career started during her education at the University of Connecticut, where she studied printmaking and ceramics while working towards a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources. Upon graduating, Abby worked in agriculture both farming and as a RI state employee while continuing to pursue ceramics. She took courses and was a studio member at the South County Arts Association, Dew Claw Pottery Studios and The Steel Yard. Abby has maintained studio space at the Nicholson File Art Studios in Providence, RI from September 2021. Abby is currently outfitting her home studio in Providence, RI, Studio Etc, which will provide space for ceramic making, all things floral (dyeing, drying, arranging), music, photography, creative events and collaborations.
